Approach & Values
Here at Cozy Counseling, I am dedicated to providing a warm and authentic space for healing and growth. My approach is trauma-informed, and I often weave in humor, creativity, and playful experiences to facilitate deep, lasting change. I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the version of themselves they want to be. My goal is to support individuals in nurturing their younger selves, regardless of their age.

Katie Reed
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I integrate experiential methods into therapy, encouraging real-time, organic growth rather than just talking about change. I especially love incorporating clients' fandoms, passions, and hobbies into the process, creating a space that truly reflects who you are.

What to expect

Free Consultation
Once you reach out, I'll follow up within 1 business day to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. This will give us a chance to talk about what you're looking for to see if we are a good fit. I also might want to know your history with therapy, what you like and don't like, as well as logistics such as schedules and payment.

Intake Session
The first session is where we get to know you. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, your history, and goals. We'll begin shaping a plan that fits you. It's also a chance to build safety, curiosity, and a sense of direction, all at your pace.

Therapy Sessions
Most sessions are 50 minutes and shaped around your needs and goals. Some days might feel reflective such as talking through emotions, patterns, or challenges. Other days might be more active, using creative tools like storytelling, roleplay, or visualization to explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

Treatment Closure
As our work together comes to a close, we’ll take time to reflect on your growth, celebrate the shifts you’ve made, and talk through any next steps you may want to take on your own or with future support. Ending therapy doesn’t mean you’re alone — it means you’ve gathered tools, insight, and self-trust to carry forward. This phase is about honoring your journey and choosing how your next chapter unfolds.
